About Me
I am a registered integrative psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience, committed to ongoing personal and professional development through training, supervision, and my own therapeutic work. I specialise in trauma and stress and I am certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, one of the leading approaches to trauma and attachment repair. I am passionate about supporting people to move through what feels difficult or stuck, towards a greater sense of safety, connection, and ease in themselves and in the world. I offer a space that is relational, non-judgemental, and collaborative, where you can explore your experience at your own pace and begin to make sense of patterns, beliefs, and responses that may no longer serve you, and support a process of growth and integration.
Alongside my clinical practice, I also integrate psychotherapy with my personal and professional experience in the corporate world to offer tailored wellbeing programmes for companies, organisations, and schools. I deliver trainings across a range of topics, including mental health, stress and resilience, burnout, psychological safety and belonging, and the development of a positive and compassionate workplace culture. I am deeply committed to advocate for and increase compassion in communities and organisations around the world through teaching Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT). Alongside my professional work, I am also a mother of two young boys, an experience that continues to deepen my understanding of myself, attachment, and relationships.
My Approach
Every person is unique. I believe that every person has their own character, history, cultural beliefs and traditions and presenting needs. For that reason I tailor my treatment accordingly. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, which means I select models and methods from across orientations to best suit a particular client and context. I integrate psychodynamic, existential, humanistic (gestalt), and body-oriented trauma approaches with mindfulness and compassion practices and the latest neuroscience research. My approach is relational and attachment focused, supporting you to develop an understanding of the issues you bring within the context of significant relationships and life experiences.
Human beings have a capacity to heal and evolve. I will meet you where you are in your development and honor your strengths, resources and body’s intelligence.
Safe to be you. I adopt a non-judgmental attitude respecting and accepting all parts of you with empathy and compassion, especially the ones you may find hard to accept. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to safely and gently explore anything that may be worrying or stressful.
Making sense through psychoeducation. Throughout our work I will be explaining why certain symptoms and behaviors occur out of our control. I offer a neurobiological explanation that will help you get make sense of why your body experiences specific symptoms and uses specific defenses that in the moment don’t make sense and are associated with difficult emotions such as fear, a sense of helplessness, shame, and guilt.
You’re in the driver’s seat. We will be working together, deciding on what to explore, making you an active participant in your journey of healing, growth and empowerment.
Effective but gentle and safe. My approach is active yet gentle and safe using various techniques and skills (that lead to effective change). In the case of trauma, I prioritize safety and stabilization using/through resourcing, prior to the processing of the traumatic symptoms.
Giving the body a voice. Using mindfulness and curiosity we will look at how the body—viewed as a living source of intelligence, information and change—holds onto memories and experiences. Together, we will help the unspoken, painful or hidden occurrences to be heard when often missed by traditional talk therapies.
